P6 pupil in Fair Trade appeal to sports company

Danny Lewis, P6A had a welcome surprise in response to a heartfelt letter he wrote to Mitre Sports International asking them to support Fair Trade and improve the lives of football stitchers.

Whilst some of his class colleagues wrote to Adidas, Nike, FIFA and the SFA, Danny wrote to Mitre Sports Headquarters and received a letter from the brand activation Executive along with a personalised football. Danny’s concern for the rights of workers was genuine and heartfelt and Mitre included a copy of their standards which highlighted ways in which they ensure workers are well treated and paid fairly.

The delivery highlighted to all P6 pupils how writing a letter and writing for a purpose can sometimes provide pleasantly surprising results.

Well done Danny!
