Primary 2 Learning 23.5.22 – 27.5.22

This week in primary 2 we have been continuing our work on compound words. The children are really enjoying this learning and have had a lot of fun spotting compound words throughout other lessons as well as during our literacy lessons. We have also learned new tricky words ‘idea, answer and usual.’

For our writing we wrote stories about our healthy super heroes, and had lots of fantastic ideas!

In numeracy we have been continuing to work on recognising how groups of objects or pictures can help us multiply. In maths we have been working to tell the difference between halves and quarters, and have been really enjoying learning about fractions.

We have continued our healthy heroes topic, learning about ways to keep our brains healthy as we learn by having a go and never giving up. We have also been trying different fruits and vegetables and thinking about words that could describe them!

We loved getting outside for PE to play football and other games with both classes together, and during free play time this week there have been a lot of brilliant building projects with the block corner.

We look forward to seeing everyone again after the weekend, and hopefully seeing some parents in school from 2pm on Wednesday!
