Confirmation Letter to P7 Parents January 2022
P7 Sacramental Preparation
Good morning,
We would kindly ask parents and carers of pupils in Primary7 to complete the short Form using the attached link. This will help ensure we have an accurate list of candidates for the Sacrament of Confirmation this year. Thank you
Sacramental Celebrations begin
Last night 6 senior pupils from primary 7 made their Sacrament of Confirmation in St John’s Church. The ceremony was streamed live to allow as many people as possible to participate. Due to Covid restrictions only a small number of family were able to attend in person.
The children were a credit to their families and the school, the ceremony was prayerful and uplifting and thanks go to the whole Parish Sacramental team for all their hard work ensuring last night was a success. The remaining celebrations of Confirmation will take place tonight and on Thursday of this week.
Reconciliation will be celebrated over the next two Friday mornings during school time with those P3 pupils making the sacrament travelling to Church. Children will be accompanied by their class teachers.
For Primary 4 there will be four celebrations of First Holy Communion taking place each Saturday until the end of term.
Staff will take turns to represent the school over the 9 Sacramental celebrations and our thanks go to Arelene, Bronagh, Margaret, the entire Sacramental team and of course our parish priest Fr Jock for all their hard work and efforts.
St John’s Parish Children’s Stations of the Cross
Fr Jock writes:
‘This Friday at 9.30am we will be livestreaming Children’s Stations of the Cross from St John’s.
Sadly, the church will not be open for a congregation but below is the link for anyone who’d like to watch/participate.
Many thanks to all the children who have agreed to read, and to the co-ordinating team.
Please do join us – it’s a heart-warming experience to hear the Way of the Cross through the voices of the little ones Jesus loved so much….’
