After months of work and a bit later than hoped, Mackena and Jack finally had the opportunity to test drive the STEM Go Kart just before they leave St John’s. Despite no battery attached yet, both Mackena and Jack enjoyed the experience of steering and braking the Kart. We hope to finish off the kart after Summer and add a body shell to finish the look! Thank you to the Parent Council for funding our project, we think it has been well worth it!
Over two Fridays P7 bikeability pupils have enjoyed a safe and practical cycling experience supported wonderfully by our fantastic volunteers. On both occasions children remarked how much they for got from the opportunity to be part of a cycle train on local roads and we owe a debt of gratitude to all those who have given up their time to support the children. There was even time for a play in the play park on the way back to school!
As a school we feel strongly that these cycling skills are essential for our young people particularly as they prepare to head to high school.
To all our lovely volunteers, we thank you!
Well done to our P2-7 library competition winners marking the opening of the library by designing their own bookmarks. We were delighted with the entries and the winning designs are all vey deserving!
The winners were Iona P2, Genna P3, Aqsa P4, David P5, Mackenzie P6 and Imman P7. The winning bookmarks have been distributed with a copy for everyone in each year group.
Primary 7 visited the new school library for the first time today and loved the choice of books and authors. They were so pleased to have the chance to boorow a book before the transition to High School. It is lovely to see the children so engaged reading for enjoyment. Thank you to all the volunteers and the Parent Council who helped make the library possible!
