This week we have been learning column subtraction with carrying. We learned facts about At Andrew and sang hymns. We got new reading books and wrote a letter persuading Mrs Kelly either for or against extending school holidays. We learnt numbers to 20 in Italian and we built Viking longships in groups. We learned spelling using magic e and we played hockey and benchball in PE. We also made up our own raps for anti bullying week!
Max, Aaron and Preston said “my favourite part of the week was building the Viking ships”.
Hollie and Aidan D enjoyed spelling.

P3 learning
We were talking all things beans this week, from planting our seeds into soil and watching them germinate to taking on the characters of Jack and the Beanstalk and deciding who’s side of events we agree with in the story through a hotseating activity! We generated questions to ask ‘Jack’ or the ‘Giant’ which lead to some very funny answers. We then wrote a persuasive piece of writing arguing which character was in the right. Aside from this we were fraction mad this week in P3, building pizzas and fraction walls and even exploring equivalent fractions! We practiced ‘ou’ words for our spelling challenge along with learning the spelling rules for adding ‘ed’ to the end of a word. We spoke about our Reconcilliation and how we have all been on this special journey together and how it’s now time for some of us to take the final step in our journey in the next couple of weeks. Finally we revisited out rainforest topic and spoke about the tribes who live there and compared their life to our lives in Scotland. We then decided to climb high up into the canopy and draw an animal that we would find there- the lovely toucan! Lots of fun and lots of hard work this week in P3:)
P3 learning
P3A were super busy this week. They wrote an independent story based on their own characters and genre and the results were amazing! We were focusing on connectives and discussing the different times we use them. We were also continuing preperation for reconcilliation by thinking of things that we are sorry for and discussing how we can do better next time.We were also working hard learning division and recognising the different language used, example groups of 2 and 2 groups of… They did some outdoor learning and PE and we got the water and beakers out today which was super fun, oh and also helped us with our learning of capacity and volume. The volume of work done this week was astounding! Lucky we have the long weekend to recover:)

We have been leaning new tricky words. Our new words are example, country and young and we are doing our word boggle again. We made a sorry card for the time we have been naughty for someone. We have been learning our 5 times tables. For example 5 times 4 = 20.this week we did some out door learning.
Today we were playing doorway online and we were doing some literacy on the game. We all had lots of fun on the iPads. We also done some PE with mr D.
We are learning the ‘ing’ sound. We have been learning about the Amazon rainforest for example some of the trees give us medicine.😊
