P6/7 Footballers rise to the occasion!

On Saturday St John’s P6 & 7 footballers won the Unity Cup at the Oriam with an impressive 6 wins to reach the final. After reaching the semi-finals comfortably, the team survived a nail biting penalty shoot out with Maisie saving a vital spot kick and Jaxson scoring what proved to be the winning goal.

The final was against Crammond, who had also played well to reach the last game of the tournament. After a hard fought game the honours were shared and both teams were delighted to have been winners on the day.

Each team was asked to raise money in order to take part in the tournament,  St John’s raised a fantastic £170 towards helping people in Yemen. A huge thank you to all the players, parents and coaches who helped make this such a successful tournament.

The team hopes to raise even more money by holding a fundraiser on the astro with fun acitvities such as Beat the goalie and Crossbar challenge. More detail to follow.
