Primary 2 have had great fun over the past few weeks reading the story of George’s Marvellous Medicine. The children have been busy mixing up and writing recipes for their own magical potions, as well as undertaking a science experiment to see which materials dissolve in water and which don’t. They have also designed their own new front covers for the book and really enjoyed rounding off the last few weeks with some ‘George’ themed games in the gym hall! It was fantastic to see all the different costumes on Friday too.
In numeracy, we are continuing to explore place value within 100 and the children are becoming confident building 2 digit numbers using tens and ones practical materials. We are still working on counting backwards from 100!
We are continuing to revise our Block 2 sounds and Primary 2 have been trying so hard to use their sounds when spelling new and challenging words in their writing.
In music, we have been learning to keep the beat of a song that counts in threes or fours – the classes loved listening to pieces of classical music on the Interactive Whiteboard.
This week in RE we have been trying to learn the Our Father and to help us we will include it in our morning prayers.
