P.1 worked well on the sounds of ’g’ and ’o’ this week. They practised writing the sounds and making cvc words such as ’dog’ and ’mop’. They worked well with a partner on a sounds recognition game.
In numeracy P.1 worked on their counting and writing numbers. They used numicon and other practical materials to make different amounts.
P.1 also did the Christmas cards for the parent council. They were delighted to have their P.7 buddies support them with this.
In RE P.1 were learning about Mary. They learned that she is the mother of Jesus and they looked at the statue of Mary and different paintings of Mary and baby Jesus. They then drew their own pictures of Mary.
P.1 have been learning about the season of Autumn this week. They started the week with an Autumn walk in Figgate Park. They collected lots of Autumn leaves, cones and conkers. Later in the week they made Autumn hedgehog paintings by using sponges and Autumn paint colours.
