In PE, the children worked together in groups of 4 to create, rehearse and perform a dragon dance as part of our learning about Chinese New Year traditions. The children did an amazing job and we really enjoyed watching our show at the end. Well done everyone!
P2 Chinese New Year
P2 have been busy learning about Chinese New Year celebrations, customs and traditions. The children read texts, watched film clips and looked at images to gather information for their writing. They enjoyed making cards to give to Miss Chen.

Oran spoke at assembly about his exciting adventures in Norway. Great presentation Oran!
P.2 Update 16.1.25
Here is an overview of some of our learning this week…with a distinctly Scottish flavour:
P.E.- Scottish country dancing- lots of hot faces and puffed out children after an energetic dance session!
Literacy- The story of the Loch Ness Monster. The children drew a picture of what they think ‘Nessie’ looks like and wrote a description of their monster.
The story of ‘The Gruffalo’ in Scots language.
Social Subjects -Learning about Scottish traditions and the map of Scotland eg. cities, mountains.
R.E. – a visit to St John’s Church to attend Mass with the whole school.
Art- The children created their own design of ‘Rainbow Rab McCoo’ using the work of Steven Brown as inspiration.
Music- singing songs ‘Heids, shooders, knaps and taes’, ‘Three Craws’, ‘Katie Bairdie’
Digital technology- lots of fun was had doing a Scottish themed quiz using Kahoot!
Maths- the vocabulary of measuring length: longer than, shorter than, taller than, smaller than.
Numeracy- looking at the teen numbers in detail using tens and ones materials
Home Learning Folders- your child should have brought home their new folder this week as well as new reading books. Please try to support their learning by doing regular tasks at home.
