To celebrate Book Week Scotland, P3 had the opportunity to visit Portobello Library yesterday. Book Week Scotland is an annual celebration that promotes the joy and benefits of reading for children.
With this visit, P3s learned about libraries, library cards, and how they could get one. P3s were gifted a Book Bug Bag by the National Book Trust, with these bags containing books, games, and different tools. These bags will soon be sent home, but are currently being kept in school so they can be used in lessons next week.
On top of the gift, our P3s were very lucky to have photographers present from the National Book Trust to take pictures of this library visit. The National Book Trust felt that brining the children to the library to receive their Book Bug Bag was an example of great practise, and so they wanted to share what St John’s do!
