Catholic Education Week Prayer Breakfast

We were delighted to welcome everyone to our school this morning, it was great to see so many children and families at the prayer breakfast before school began. It was lovely to share time together chatting, eating, drinking and praying. Fr Jock led our short service ably assisted by our excellent P7 readers. Thank you also to the teachers who helped set up the hall this morning. We hope to hold another breakfast next term.

St Andrew’s day Mass 28th November

This morning at St Mary Magdalene’s church P3-7 children celebrated the upcoming feast day of our nation’s patron saint St Andrew. P5 led the mass beautifully, the readers spoke confidently, all the children enthusiastically joined in the hymns and teachers commented on how calm and prayerful Mass was this morning.

Our thanks go to Primary 5 teachers and pupils for preparing the Mass so well, to Frances and Miss Miller for arranging the musical accompaniment and singing, Elise for her altar serving, the Eucharistic ministers, our parent helpers who walked classes to and from church and of course Fr Jock.

Happy St Andrew’s Day!

Feast of All Saints Mass 1st November 2024

This morning P3-7 pupils attended Mass at St John’s church to celebrate the Feast of All Saints. The classes did well to be seated ahead of 0945 for an earlier Mass. Thank you to all the adult helpers who helped us travel to and from church this morning.

P6 led the Mass very well, the readers all spoke confidently, the singers sang beautifully and the offertory and altar servers were excellent.

Fr Jock was impressed by the responses to his questions during the homily and the children took an active part by singing hymns and prayer responses.

Our next Mass will be led by Primary 5 and will be held at St Mary Magdalene’s church on November 28th to celebrate the feast day of our nation’s patron saint St Andrew.

Feast of the Assumption 15th August 2024

This morning P3-7 attended St John’s church to celebrate the feast of the Assumption. The children looked very smart in their school uniforms and sat well throughout Mass.

Fr Jock was particularly impressed by the knowledge the children demonstrated about the life of Mary. Elise and Mette were excellent altar servers today.

Thank you to Frances for playing the piano and to the parents who came with us to church.

Our next Mass is in September and will be led by our P7 senior pupils.
