Both P3 classes worked with Edinburgh & Lothians Greenspace Trust today to share ideas about the new park space which will be created on the present St John’s school site.

Abby and Ruth showed the children pictures of paths, benches, play apparatus and ECO friendly reycled resources. Children were asked to draw their ideas on large A3 maps and label these.

The children had lots of great ideas including Flying foxes, football pitches, treehouses and fun parks.

P1 look after God’s World

P1 have been very busy learning about recycling. Having read the No Bot story, both classes made their own  robots using recyced materials.

Firstly, the childern planned their robots and drew their ideas down before deciding what materials they should use.

The children explained their ideas to the class and thought of materials they could recycle such as cardboard, plastic and glass.

We think they look grrrreat!

Books Bonanza!

books

A huge thank you to St John’s Parent Council who have donated books to every class to support learning about our Scots language. The Pupil Council are very excited about the new resources and can’t wait to use them in class!

Safer Streets Launch

Today saw the launch of our Safer Streets campaign. To celebrate, children were offered berakfast outside in the playground as they arrived at school. It was great to see so many scooters and bikes in the playground!
