Art and Storytelling in the Sun

This afternoon P6 spent a lot of time in the sunny playground transferring our storyboard plans to outdoor art. We worked in groups to plan our adventure stories. Then we used outdoor chalk to transform our playground into a storyteller’s dream! We hope you enjoy our creations!

Keith Haring Artwork by P6

We have been learning about the history of the Berlin Wall in P6. The American artist famously painted a long section of the wall in East Germany. We learned about Haring’s artwork and had a go at creating art inspired by him. We hope you enjoy our efforts!

World Book Day in P6B

We’ve had a book and reading filled couple of days in P6B. Yesterday we visited the school library and many of us found new books to read. Today a number of enthusiastic children dressed up in book-themed outfits. We’ve shared photos of those who agreed to be photographed.

Some of us were lucky enough to visit the Nursery to read to the children there. The staff praised the children’s helpfulness, reading skills and kindness.

In the afternoon we enjoyed a book-themed scavenger hunt which was brilliantly organised by Mrs Morrison.

Scottish opera

P7/P6 have a wonderful experience performing in the Scottish opera. They performed so well on the day and we were so proud of them. Below are a snapshot of some of the photos we captured

P6 learning

Primary 6 have been diving into their new topic on the Berlin Wall.

Today, the children enjoyed a full-day, immersive role-play activity. Each child arrived with either an “East” or “West” Berliner ID card, instantly placing them within the historical context. We then divided the classroom, creating a “wall” to simulate the physical and social division of Berlin.

Throughout the day, students experienced the realities of life during that time. They encountered “guards” at Checkpoint Charlie, who meticulously checked their identification before allowing them to cross between the East and West sides.
