Today we learned about child safety with the NSPCC

Today we had an assembly and a workshop with NSPCC (National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children). At the assembly they told us about Childline and the different types of abuse. They taught us how to speak out and stay safe. Also the different types of abuse like sexual abuse, emotional abuse and neglect. Two people including me were asked to go up in front of the school and filled a sack with all the worries we carry around. Then we thought about who we can talk to you and the sack got lighter as we took each brick out. Saskia sang two wonderful songs for us, we were amazed by her voice!
This afternoon we did a class workshop, we all had to work in groups to discuss things like, is it good to touch someone if they don’t want to? Later we watched a video about a person talking to Childline, then the NSPCC volunteers gave us an activity to do. Also, everyone learned about something. Ashkin learned that the phone number to Childline is for anybody who wants help. He also learned about the ways the NSPCC help people, Anna learned about that you can always talk to a trusted adult and Gabriela learned about all the types of ways people can hurt children.
