The nursery class went on a welly walk around Figgate Park to raise funds to develop our nursery garden. We were very lucky with the weather as it was dry but the park had lots of puddles for us to splash in! The park has lots of signs of spring such as daffodils, blossom on the trees and the children spotted that the birds were starting to build their nests in the trees.
We were on ‘otter watch’ on the bridge (with no sighting to report) and the swans and ducks were keen to come over and see what we were doing. Our reflections in the water were a great talking point and we even found a robot in the park. Some of the children suspected that the robot got up there using honey that he stuck on his shoes.
We are delighted to report that the welly walk has raised over £835. Thank you to all who sponsored us and to all the helpers on the day. Well done boys and girls!
