This morning twenty-two of our nursery pupils enjoyed a chance to have a school lunch in the St John’s dinner hall with their parents and carers. We were delighted to see so many of next year’s pupils enjoy their freshly prepared food. We began with a short input by Jan and Susan from Childsmile, the ladies had a lovely display for children and families to look at and lots of stickers to hand out too!
Chris Ross, head of catering services for Edinburgh was able to join us and he spoke about the meal provision and menus on offer for children. Then it was time to try the food and ask questions.
A big thank you to the school catering team led by Helen for their efforts today, as well as the ladies from Childsmile, all the parents and carers who took time to come along and try a school meal and of course Chris as head of catering services.
