P2 Learning 4th April – 8th April

What a busy last week of term we’ve had in primary 2!

We have been continuing to revise our soft c and soft g sounds in words like space and page in phonics, and have been doing our end of unit reading assessments – you may notice your child has not read twice in school this week because of this. We will be back to normal after the break!

We will continue learning our soft c and soft g sounds for one more week when we are back and then we will let you know in the homework pack that will be sent out in the second week of term which sounds and tricky words are up next.

In numeracy we continued our subtraction work, and will be carrying on with this after the break. There is also a Sumdog Challenge for the children to try that will be available during the holiday if they are interested in doing some at home learning.

We have looked at the Easter story this week and had fun writing and making story maps to retell it, as well as exploring spring and Easter traditions through dance and having an Easter Egg colouring competition. We also learned about Ramadan and had a class discussion about the different celebrations happening this month where the children had lots of good ideas and interesting questions.

We were so happy to see so many of you in your colourful clothes on Friday for our day of peace! We have been drawing and colouring sunflowers using pastels to display as a symbol of peace in our classrooms.

We hope you have a lovely break, and look forward to seeing everyone back on the 25th April!
