This week in literacy P.1 have continued revising all the set 1 sounds. They have been focusing on the ‘ck’ sound to make cvcc words such as ‘lock’, ‘pack’, ‘tuck’, ‘neck’, ‘sick’, pick’. They have also been revising all the set 1 tricky or red words. Please go over the tricky words at home. They can make and write cvc and cvcc words at home for extra revision.
In numeracy the children have continued counting forward and backward within 20. Thinking about what number comes before and after. They have been adding numbers and thinking about the different numbers that can add together to make 5. They can practise counting different objects at home and adding 2 amounts together.
P.1 have been using the different zones for their play-based learning. They have enjoyed drawing, writing, doing jigsaws and constructing different structures with a variety of construction materials.
P.1 listen well and join in the singing at P.1 and P.2’s assembly together every week. They celebrate birthdays and sing ‘Happy Birthday’ in many languages.
