This week in literacy P.1 have continued their work on set 2 sounds. They have been focusing on ‘igh’, ‘ow’ and ‘oo’ to make words such as ‘high’, ‘sigh’, ‘light’, ‘night’, ‘low’, ‘show’, ‘look’, ‘moon’, ‘book’. They have also been revising all the set tricky or red words. Please go over the tricky words at home. They can make and write cvc and cvcc words with ‘igh’, ‘ow’ and ‘oo’ at home for revision.
In numeracy the children have continued counting forward and backward within 20. Thinking about what number comes before and after. Also, what is 1 more and 1 less. They have been adding doubles and have been using the doubles to help add near double sums. They can continue practising these sums at home.
In RE P.1 have been learning about the Easter story. They have been drawing Easter pictures and making Easter cards. They have enjoyed making chocolate crispy Easter cakes.
This week P.1 performed some of their talents with the P.2 children as an audience. They all did so well and received a badge from Mrs Kelly for taking part.
