This week in literacy P.1 have been revising all the sounds they have learned over the year. They have been revising letter formation and writing cvc, ccvc and magic e words.
In numeracy the children have been ordering numbers to 30 forwards and backwards. They have been adding amounts within 10. At home they can count forwards and backwards from different numbers and can practise adding two amounts together. They have been revising coin recognition and ordering the coins from least amount to most amount. They have been adding different coins together to see how much they make. At home the children can practise ordering coins from least to most and can practise adding coins together and making different amounts.
This week the children had a great time on Sport’s Day and they all took part so well. They gained lots of points for their teams and had a great morning thanks to Mr Devine, who organised it all.
P.1 enjoyed listening to the school choir who gave a fabulous concert in the school hall, where they took us back to the 90’s with some well-known songs from that decade. P.1 were an excellent audience, listening well, clapping along and showing their appreciation.
