Celebrating St Andrews Day in P5

Primary 5 have enjoyed celebrating St Andrew this week. On Wednesday we led a mass at church, and the parishioners really enjoyed our song ‘The Sea of Galilee’ which we performed at the end. All our readers and helpers did a brilliant job!

On Thursday, we had a Scottish fun day. We started the day with hot, delicious porridge, and created digital art based on the life of St Andrew. Then we sang Flower of Scotland and did some ceilidh dancing. We did the Gay Gordons, which was really fun when we danced it to traditional music. But then we danced it to modern dance music which had us all laughing!

On Thursday afternoon, we watch Brave which is about a Scottish princess, and we discussed what life must have been like in Scotland in the past, and we ate oatcakes and cheese. We rounded off the day with a very Scottish treat – Irn Bru and shortbread! Slainte!
