This week in literacy P.1 have been revising all the sounds they have covered so far. At home they can practise writing the sounds with pencils and felt pens and some cvc words too. At home the children can use their sounds to make cvc words. The children wrote some cvc words on whiteboards and played a cvc matching game to encourage sounding out and blending sounds together.
In numeracy the children have been revising their number work. They practised saying number sequences and identified different numbers. They can practise counting different amounts at home and can practise writing their numerals 0-20. They used a colour by number picture to practise their numeral identification.
P.1 have been making stars and decorating the classroom windows for Christmas. Have a look and see how they have done.
P.1 did a dress rehearsal of the Nativity for the P.7 classes and all the nursery children this week. They all remembered their lines and when to go on and off the stage. The p.7’s and nursery children thoroughly enjoyed it.
