Monday 9 September

Hello everyone!

For pictures of your children’s learning please log in to learning journals https://stjohns.yourlearningjournals.co.uk/Login.aspx if you have any difficulty logging in, please get in touch and we will be happy to help.

This week’s new sounds are ‘n, i and s’

Words to practise making and reading: nip, sit, tin, nap, pit. Can you make any other words using the sounds we have learned so far?

Our book of the week this week is ‘Six Dinner Sid’. We have been counting Sid’s dinners and trips to the vet! We have been looking for sounds that we know in the story.

In numeracy, we are learning to write the numbers 3, 4 and 5. We are continuing to practise counting forwards anc backwards within 0-20. Can you practise writing these numbers at home – maybe with chalks, crayons or felt-tips?

We have been looking at 2D shapes in our play – can you go on a shape hunt around your house or garden? How many different shapes can you find?

As part of our work on our Class Charter, we are looking at our right to play. Can you play a game together as a family at home? Or maybe enjoy a trip to your local play park? Talk about what your child likes to play at school and home. We had lots of good discussion with our Talking Partners about our favourite games.

Have a wonderful week,

The P1 Team
