Tuesday 17 September

Hello everyone! We hope you had a lovely September weekend.

For pictures of your children’s learning please log in to learning journals https://stjohns.yourlearningjournals.co.uk/Login.aspx if you have any difficulty logging in, please get in touch and we will be happy to help.

This week we are learning new sounds m, r and e. Here are some words to make, read and write:

mat, man, ran, rat, rip, men

In numeracy, we are continuing to look at counting forwards and backwards within 0-20. Counting backwards is quite tricky – can you practise counting back through the teen numbers? We are learning to write the numbers 6, 7 and 8 this week. Maybe you could practise this at home!

In RE, we have been listening to the story of The Good Samaritan and talking about how we can be a good neighbour. Encourage your child to be helpful at home!

As part of our whole school learning expedition about Teams, we have been working in teams to build a den this week. Can you work together to build your own den at home? What makes a good team?

We look forward to seeing you at our Meet The Teacher evening tomorrow night.

P1 Home Learning packs will come home this week.

Have a super week everyone!

The P1 Team
