P3B – 2D Shape

Primary 3B have been learning about 2D shape, introducing new shapes like rhombus, pentagon, hexagon and octagon.

Last week we went on our shape hunt, this week we have been learning which shapes tesselate and which ones don’t.

The children have really enjoyed using the shapes to make tiling patterns! We hope you like them!

Primary 3B ☺️

Mrs Gargaro and Miss McCaughey are delighted with how Primary 3B have settled in so well after the summer break ☺️
It’s back to business and we have been busy!

Our chosen Roald Dahl book for the upcoming Roald Dahl Day on September 13th, is Fantastic Mr Fox 🦊 We have been listening to the story, and completing literacy and art activities. We are enjoying the story and learning about setting, character profiles and story sequencing.

In Numeracy we have been revising our number sequences and patterns. We have been learning how to count on 2s, 5s and 10s. In the coming weeks we will be moving onto recognising and working with numbers within 1000, we can’t wait 😆

We have been outdoors every day taking part in the Daily Mile, playing games, team building, and of course enjoying being back together with friends ❤️

Primary 2 working and playing together 👫

Primary 2 have been having showing us how well they can work and play together. They have been completing jigsaw puzzles in groups, matching dominoes, Lego, Duplo, construction tiles, painting summer pictures outside and chalking Bastille celebration pictures. What a fantastic group of little learners 💖

P2 Literacy ✏️

P2 are FABULOUS SPELLERS ⭐️
In Literacy we have been focusing on adding ‘ing’ to words. We have been working hard on segmenting and blending sounds then adding ‘ing’ to make new words.
We have been using sound cubes, phonics mats and hoops outside, practising rainbow writing, using magnetic boards and writing silly sentences. P2 are a smart bunch of children and are doing amazingly well in Literacy ⭐️ ✏️
