P6 Learning Log – Week Beginning 23.09.19

Primary 6 have been researching information about their Rugby World Cup team’s country and created a fact file. They learned about the food, currency, landmarks and other key information. In P.E. teams from each pool played against each other as part of their pre-season training.

As this week is snapshot journal week, the children have been taking care to produce their best work. In maths, they continued their learning of decimals and can now confidently add and subtract numbers with two decimal places. They even managed to apply their learning to solve complicated word problems!

In writing, the children continued the next part of a story in the style of the author focusing on VCOP. We were so impressed with the descriptive language they were able to include!

As part of our learning about the solar system, the children worked in pairs to research a planet and display their learning on a poster or leaflet. They also created beautiful and colourful pieces of art based on the aurora borealis using chalk and oil pastels.

Thursday saw the return of St. John’s Got Talent! Well done to everyone who auditioned and to Milly and Sophie, Catriona and Sophia, Beniamin and Leo who got through to the finals, you did yourselves and primary 6 proud! We are looking forward to finding out the results at assembly next Friday!
