On Thursday we did highland hustle, which is highland dancing, and exercise with Mrs Gargaro it was very exciting and everybody was out of puff and felt like their faces were on fire at the end. We started off by doing a warm up followed by a low intensity dance next up we had to get in partners and we did a group dance and finally we did a high intensity dance which had leaps, skips, and jumps everybody really enjoyed it and it great exercise!

On Friday morning we were going to Dynamic Earth for a workshop on volcanoes .When we got there we were greeted by Frankie, she took us to the place there the workshop was going to happen  . When we all took our places the workshop began, first she showed us an image of the earth‘s layers. The are the crust, where we live on, the mantle, the outer core and last is the inner core. After that we learned about the inner core. The inner core is made out of iron and nickle , we got to touch bits of an asteroid which are made out of the same material, the inner core is a solid .Secondly we explored the outer core which is made out of the same material as the inner core but it is a solid and it is much hotter. After that we learned about the mantle, which is made out of magma and loads of broken up bits of rock. Then each table got a rock and a clue, we had to figure out which one was ours. My table got the lava bomb. Lastly we watched a video of different volcanoes erupting. After that we were heading back to the school.

On Monday, we started our remaking of famous book covers and re incarnated them. In the afternoon we started creating our own characters using show don’t tell which is a method where you use words to describe them which shows there feelings without telling you them.

On Tuesday we carried on our characters and adding more detail to it, we carried on our book covers and tried to finish off that.

On Wednesday we finished off our characters and rewrote them using the feedback what are partner told us and did our book cover, we did a book quiz about different things.

On Thursday we had authors live and made poems on if the world were, for instance if the world were paper and we did a mind map to help us do the poem.

On Friday, we dressed up as our favourite characters from our books and we had assembly where we have to show of our costumes and tell them about who we are and what book we came from.

This week has been Friendship Week.

This week we have been learning in maths about how to add and subtract big decimal numbers. This week we have been learning about friendship and the quality of a friend and how to stand up to a bully. Then we learned about the beatitudes and that there are eight beatitudes. We made up our own we also drew a picture about the beatitude we wrote:

Kieran – blessed are those who are not wealthy but will be received in the kingdom of heaven.

Zak – blessed those that accept forgiveness and let God forgive them forever.

Naomi – Blessed are those who are lonely for they will be loved in the Kingdom of Heaven.

We also were learning about story writing as in comic books about bulling. You could do verbal bulling, physical bullying, social bulling and cyber bulling on book creator and one of the pages had to be from pic collage.

This week we learned how to divide and multiply decimals.

We also made a book creator on dinosaurs for our p1 buddy’s, we had to put in videos, facts, pictures and we tried to make it as interesting as we could, some of us put in educational videos and some put in some songs about our dinosaur. Then we showed it to our buddy’s and they loved them!

In writing we were doing creative monsters stories and we based it on the quest.

In art we were doing skeletons based on the day of the dead which goes on for 3 days.
